The cylinders do extend and retract as they should and lots of air comes out of the hole when compressed, so they may still be good.
Both cylinders are dated 1/8 on their bottoms as shown in the 3rd picture. That said, there is some pitting on the cylinder lift rods.
Questions or concerns call me at both rails clearly have the above listed part numbers and Ford logo clearly stamped into them. These have been stored for decades in doors. Here are 2 original Ford produced convertible top lift rails and top lift cylinders from a 1969 mercury Cougar.
